Forget the tired mantra do more with less and instead, explore a real shift of thinking that has the power to transform how your organization meets mission, anticipates challenges and creates a healthier work environment. Step briefly into the world of technology – one of constant change – to learn the origins of the Agile and Scrum frameworks. Move to key steps of the implementation cycle and what they look like for nonprofits. Impact, retention and other outcomes bring strategies to life. Attendees will learn the fundamentals of the framework, how to take one concept for test-drive and the key questions to answer when considering department or organization-wide implementation. This workshop is appropriate for any sized nonprofit in any sized market. Board members encouraged to attend as well as staff.

Speaker Information

Parker Harrington is the founder and owner of The Parker Circle and Sponsorship Plus, national firms dedicated to helping non-profits fulfill their mission and positively impact their communities. Her firms were established in 2000 and have a client list that spans the country and includes such well-known brands as United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Scores of smaller non-profit organizations, many located in rural markets, have also benefited from services. During COVID, Harrington saw the need to help clients respond to change quickly. She explored Agile project management principles and realized they held solutions to challenges, particularly short-term iterative processes with a feedback loop for continual improvement. She holds certifications as an Agile Scrum Expert (ASEC) and Registered Scrum Master (RSM.) Harrington is known for ethical approaches which educate communities, engage committed volunteers, and inspire influencers to act. She enjoys leading diverse teams of staff and board and is appreciated for her high energy, knowledge, deep listening and generosity in sharing what she has learned. Prior to launching her businesses, Harrington worked in both corporate and non-profit public relations roles beginning her career as an on-air news anchor.
