Shared Prosperity, Tools for Healthy Communities @ VSECU
Oct 22 all-day

Join VBSR for the second Measure What Matters workshop “Shared Prosperity, Tools for Healthy Communities” on October 22 in Montpelier. This workshop will focus on Community. Learn how to draft Mission/Vision/Value statements, how to strategically engage your community in advocating for social and environmental standards, how to invest in your local community with meaningful impact, how to help employees engage in the community, and more. Attendees will hear about many successful initiatives from local businesses and leave this workshop with ready-to-use tools and a road map for improvement at your organization.

VBSR’s Measure What Matters workshop series is your opportunity to learn from some of the best companies in New England, see how you measure up against industry leaders, and find new ways to improve your business operations. Workshop attendees will leave with ready-to-use tools for change and an expanded network of professionals who believe in business as a power for good! Modeled after the B-Corp Impact Assessment, this new series will help members to better support their communities, reduce the impact of their operations on the environment and to create the best workplace for their employees. Join us for a single workshop or two or the entire series. With a multi-workshop registration, different employees in your organization can attend different workshops. Workshops are available for VBSR and NHBSR members only, with 50% discounts for Champion Members and 25% discounts for Gold Members.

Conferences that Make a Difference (Washington Nonprofits Partnership Webinar) @ Webinar
Nov 6 @ 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm

Use the Vermont Nonprofit Discount Code: CGVT

You organize conferences. You spend considerable time scheduling speakers and managing logistics. You want people to come, have a good experience, and feel connected to your organization. But how do you know you made a difference? How do you make sure that the people who attend your conference are able to do their work differently because they invested time and money in your event? How do you use your conference to move the needle on some important issue facing your organization or sector?

Join learning experts Nancy Bacon and Mark Nilles as they walk through the four elements of conference design:

  • Strategy and overall approach
  • Pre-conference activities
  • The big day: Deliver a day that makes a difference
  • Make it stick: Post-conference activities

At the end of the webinar, you will be able to:

  • Describe how a conference can fit into your organization’s strategy
  • Name several ways that you can get attendees ready to learn before the conference begins
  • Support your speakers to deliver excellent workshops
  • Describe how to build in opportunities for networking and reflection
  • Explain ways to “boost” learning after the conference

We will share practical advice based on implementing and advising on conferences big and small. We will show you how to use tools that we have honed through past conferences. We will leave you ready to deliver learningful conferences for the people you serve.

This webinar is designed for people who organize conferences for membership organizations or associations. It is also appropriate for people who regularly speak at conferences.
