Common Good Vermont is pleased to partner with the Montana Nonprofit Association on this session.

New to being on a board or working as a leader in a nonprofit? Set yourself (and your whole board) up for success by joining this three part series covering all YOU need to know to be an effective, informed, and confident board member.

This series is general board orientation in a nutshell for new board members, not-yet board members, organizational leaders, or those who want a refresher. Participants will leave with:

  • An understanding of legal responsibilities of board members
  • An introduction to board culture and the dynamics of being a volunteer leader for a nonprofit
  • Confidence in stepping into your role as a board member

Because we believe that teams learn better together, when you purchase online learning in 2025, your whole team gets access to the course, it’s content, and the recordings. Bring along your best work buddy, your new volunteers, your board chair, or the whole crew!

Course Schedule:

  • This session will cover board legal responsibilities, duties, and modes of governance.

Feb 27 | How do we do it together?

  • This session will talk board dynamics, culture, red flags, and a framework for inclusion.
