Vermont Department Finance and Management’s Statewide Granting Division and Common Good Vermont are offering this free training on indirect cost rate agreements. This training is focused on providing nonprofit organizations with guidance on when calculating a rate makes sense for their organization, on the calculation methodology options available to their organization within the Federal Uniform Guidance Appendix, and which methods will result in the most indirect funds drawn to cover their organizations indirect facilities and administrative cost burdens.
This training will be recorded for organizations who cannot attend the live training and as a reference tool to look back on. This training will be 2 hours long with 30 minutes of this time being a Q&A for nonprofit organizations to ask questions or present scenarios; the Q&A portion of the training at the end will not be recorded to encourage questions, discussion, and participation in this portion of the training. The Department of Finance and Management will post the written-out questions from this portion to the Grantee Training website in the days following the training to ensure the answers are readily accessible for everyone in a written format.
This training will cover the steps needed to submit a proposal for a Vermont Indirect Cost Rate Agreement (VICRA), however the guidance for calculation, methodology, and organizational choices are all applicable to Federally Negotiated Indirect Cost Rate Agreements (NICRA) proposal and the Federal negotiation process.
Questions on the calculation methodology or negotiation process can also be sent to [email protected] before or after this training for additional guidance.
