Girls on the Run Vermont is currently seeking a Development Manager to support and advance its mission, goals, and objectives by managing the financial security of the organization.
General Position Summary:
The Development Manager is responsible for the strategic direction of planning, organizing and directing GOTRVT’s fundraising initiatives, in collaboration with the Executive Director, including seasonal sponsorships, grants, individual and corporate giving, and development initiatives for special events. Additionally, this position will be responsible for the joint creation of marketing and social media content relative to development initiatives.
This position works closely with the Executive Director. Must be dynamic and spirited about networking throughout the state with potential donors and partners and can easily navigate between donor engagement opportunities, financial forecasting, and database maintenance. Works to assist Executive Director with partnerships and relationships to propel GOTRVT’s mission forward.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Alongside the Executive Director, activate strategies for stewarding individual donors, corporate sponsorships, and special events to ensure that fundraising goals are achieved
- Assist with the design and execution of annual fund development campaigns
- Actively cultivate and steward partners, donor and volunteers
- Research and develop beneficial community relationships
- Establish community partnerships with like-minded organizations that are well-aligned with Girls on the Run mission
- Adhere to all Girls on the Run council obligations as pertains to partnerships as stated in the membership agreement and operations manual
- Develop and oversee the implementation of SoleMates initiative
- Assist in the research and writing of grant applications
- Lead the charge for any fundraising events
- Create and update data tracking tools that will provide financial information to develop the organizational budget
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with GOTRVT’s board and support the board in its fundraising efforts, including end of year appeal and Sneaker Soiree outreach
- Responsible for reporting and database maintenance for development needs
- Other tasks as outlined by the ED, inclusive of some social media
Qualifications:
· Three years minimum fundraising experience, nonprofit experience ideal
· BS in business, marketing or nonprofit leadership and fundraising, or equivalent
· Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· Strong relationship building and networking skills
· Ability to work independently and with a small team
· Proficient in Computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google docs, Canva, FB/Instagram and very comfortable with technology in general
· Experience using donor and data management platforms
· Regular access to a reliable vehicle and ability to travel statewide as needed, peak times during the spring season
· Will require some nights and weekends, depending on event schedule
· Some domestic travel for national conference (Summit), regional workshops, or other professional development opportunities
· Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
· Excited to be a part of an “all hands-on deck” team and prepared to take on team tasks as needed to support small staff, especially during spring season
Salary commensurate with experience.
Travel throughout Vermont required.

Pay: $45,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
30-40 hours a week – salary varies based on experience and number of hours committed
