Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify borrower income, assets, credit, employment history, property appraisals, title commitment as applicable for each loan product offered
  • Review loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness; identify any missing documents
  • Escalate applications that require second level approval, to include write-up and recommendation to Loan Committee for exception requests
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of detailed loan policies and lending compliance
  • Follow consistence processes, utilizing job aids, checklists, policy and procedure documents
  • Maintain an organized and professional work environment
  • Stay current on industry trends, secondary market guidelines, portfolio lending, and consumer lending best practices
  • Provide back-up coverage to other team members, primarily processing and closing
  • Collaborate with lending team colleagues to develop and refine lending procedures and implement changes in loan system

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/3+ years of current experience in mortgage and/or consumer lending
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
  • Proficient BytePro or comparable LOS
  • Knowledge of Community Development Financial Institutions
  • Knowledge of SalesForce
  • Other Expectations:
  • Primarily in-office with possibility for hybrid work option
  • Ongoing continuing education to stay current with best practices in CDFI and lending
  • Requires repetitive movement, bending or twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, climbing, and walking; sitting for extended periods of time using keyboard and computer; safely moving or lifting objects up to 40 pounds. Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
