Program Director Position

Salary: determined by experience and education

Otter Creek Child Center, established in 1984 as a non-profit early care and education center located in Middlebury, VT is growing and is seeking a Program Director to add to our established administration team. Otter Creek is a 5 STARS, NAEYC accredited center serving children 6 weeks to 6 years and their families.

The successful applicant will complement the current administration team by bringing experience with infants through preschoolers, play-based emergent curriculum and a strong dedication to building an inclusive community for families.

We are looking for a Program Director who has experience with and is familiar with:

• Supervising teachers and working with them to achieve professional development goals
• Supporting teachers with planning and implementing a play-based emergent curriculum that is responsive to the development of each child
• Supporting teachers in creating an inviting environment that encourages exploration
• Supporting children and families
• Strong and clear verbal and written communication skills
• Collaborating with and building relationships with county support services
• NAEYC Accreditation, VT State Licensing Regulations, VT STARS System
• Teaching Strategies GOLD, Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Publisher, Email, and online programs.

Requirements:

Minimum of a BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with expertise in early childhood education
5+ years working directly with children and families

Preferred experience with supervision of teachers and working knowledge of teacher development
