Development Coordinator

OCCC is looking for a person interested in working as a Development Coordinator. This is a part-time, full-year position.

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced fundraiser and storyteller. This person is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing OCCC’s fundraising, including growing the major gifts program, identifying, building planned giving, special events, and annual campaigns. This person works closely with The Executive Director and the Board of Directors in all development and fundraising endeavors. A primary focus is on the cultivation and solicitation of major donors. This role maintains stewardship of major donors, including organizations as well as individuals, and ensures regular personalized contact. This position will grow community engagement, conduct mailings, and organize fundraising drives.

This person will oversee the fundraising database – Quickbooks for Nonprofits, gift processing, tracking systems, and maintain timely gift recognition programs for foundations and private contributions. They will create compelling opportunities for donors to support OCCC and make the experience of giving both satisfying and rewarding. We are looking for someone attentive, persistent, flexible, and donor-centered.

This position is responsible for regular social media posting on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter; must be proficient. Carry out general administrative duties as directed.

Must have:
Fundraising and successful grant writing experience.
Superior organizational, writing, and communication skills
A service orientation
Self-starter w/strong work ethic and high level of motivation
Ability to effectively manage multiple, changing priorities
Meet deadlines and goals consistently
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
Travel within the MMUU School District
Attend and contribute to Board meetings, provide timely written reports of fundraising activities
Stay current with nonprofit fundraising trends and best practices
Responsible for developing messages, talking points, and donor materials
Maintain grants calendar to meet deadlines
Identify, cultivate and solicit corporate gifts

The Development Coordinator represents our organization. They are committed to maintaining our mission and interests to funders, community groups, governmental entities, and to the public.

Experience must include analytic capabilities and fluency in Excel and Google sheets along with other Google tools. Basic WordPress skills, photo editing, and graphic design skills. Knowledge of the Vermont philanthropic community is a plus.
