About the Role:

Position: Therapeutic Advocate (T.A.) at Sheldon Academy
Location: Rutland, VT 05701 (Relocation required)
Pay: $15.75 – $16.00 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday 8am-4pm
Key Responsibilities:

·        Implement behavior management strategies and classroom schedules.

·        Develop, monitor, and record individualized behavior and educational goals.

·        Provide behavioral interventions and support for various learning styles, ensuring crisis intervention and training.

·        Communicate with students, parents, and LEAs; maintain behavioral and academic data.

·        Assist with planning academic and recreational activities; support team collaboration.

Qualifications:

·        High School Diploma required; B.S. or B.A. in Child Development or related field preferred, with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with behaviorally/emotionally disturbed children.

·        Preferably 1 year of experience in behavioral health or educational support roles.

·        Valid Vermont driver’s license, insurance on file, and criminal background check.

·        Strong communication, empathy, and organizational skills.

·        Ability to handle physical and emotional challenges.
