About the job –

Vermont Adult Learning (VAL) is hiring a student support specialist to work 20-28 hrs/wk in our Burlington, VT Learning Center. This role is the welcoming face of our team as we work with adult students (16+) to build skills and pursue their goals through an innovative and personalized learning approach.

This in-person role involves greeting students, managing onboarding, orientation, and assessments, and coordinating with our advising/instruction team as well as our community partners to support students through the inevitable challenges and successes along the learning path.

Qualifications –

Strong interpersonal, oral, and written English communication skills are required, as are organizational skills, digital literacy, hospitality, and adaptability.

Project or office management, education, or case management experience are a plus.

Familiarity with secondary education, community outreach, and non-profit organizations in Burlington is also a plus.
