VIA is a non-profit, grassroots, faith-based organizing federation of over 70 member and affiliated congregations. VIA works to effect systemic change on social justice issues impacting Vermonters and their communities, and is affiliated with the Faith in Action National Network. We seek an Executive Director with experience, skills and vision to lead the organization and expand upon current social and economic justice initiatives.

The Executive Director is the face of the organization: providing broad-based training on community organizing, facilitating and supporting Local Organizing Committees, training and supervising staff, budget oversight, fundraising and grant-writing, building alliances with government, business and non-profit entities, developing new initiatives, general office management. The Director meets with and reports to the Board of Directors regularly.

The position requires: excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of community organizing strategies, grant-writing expertise, willingness and ability to travel in Vermont and out of state to Faith in Action conferences, comfort with public speaking, comfort and discernment in working with diverse faith traditions and communities, comfort with technology tools and usage, a deep commitment to improving the lives of Vermonters especially those in vulnerable and/or marginalized populations.

This is a full-time position with a salary range up to $74,000 commensurate with education and experience.
