The Vermont Community Foundation Welcomes Nancy Rowden Brock as Vice President for Finance and Holly Morehouse as Vice President for Grants and Community Impact

The Vermont Community Foundation is pleased to announce it has recently filled two leadership positions. Nancy Rowden Brock will join as Vice President for Finance, and Holly Morehouse will join as Vice President for Grants and Community Impact.

Nancy Rowden Brock brings over 30 years of diverse experience in finance, leadership, and management to the Community Foundation, having served as Chief Financial Officer of nonprofit organizations as well as publicly traded and private companies in Vermont, including Green Mountain Power Corporation, Rock of Ages, St. Michael’s College, and Vermont Public Radio. She has also held Board of Directors positions at several entities. Nancy holds deep expertise in finance and accounting as well as experience leading and growing teams.

“Joining the Community Foundation and working to close the opportunity gap for Vermonters is a unique opportunity,” says Rowden Brock. “It is inspiring to see the generosity of donors, dedication of staff, and hard work of grantees working together towards the same goal.”

Dr. Holly Morehouse joins the Community Foundation with over 20 years of experience in project management, community-based decision making, collaborative processes, youth development, and program leadership. Most recently, Holly served as the founding Executive Director of Vermont Afterschool, where she grew the organization over the last 13 years into a state and nationally recognized leader in the areas of youth development, out-of-school programming, social emotional learning, youth voice, and professional development. In her previous position, Dr. Morehouse was Vermont’s State Coordinator for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) at the Vermont Agency of Education. Holly is the recipient of the Vermont Community Foundation’s 2017 Con Hogan Award. This annual award is given to a community leader who shows deep community involvement, generosity, enthusiasm, a collaborative approach, and a focus on data and outcomes in his or her work.

“I am incredibly excited to be joining the Vermont Community Foundation with their focus on strengthening Vermont’s communities for children, youth, and families,” says Dr. Morehouse. “I am impressed with the dedication of their staff and Board, and I appreciate the ways the Community Foundation can support positive change through grantmaking and strategic investments. I look forward to taking on this challenging and rewarding role as the organization seeks to bring its work to the next level of impact, scale, and relevance.”

“We are incredibly fortunate to have two experts in their respective fields who bring knowledge, experience, and a commitment to making a difference to our organization,” says Dan Smith, president and CEO of the Vermont Community Foundation. “Both in their day-to-day roles and as members of our leadership team, I look forward to working with Nancy and Holly as the Community Foundation looks to increase its impact in our wonderful state.”
