Technical Assistance for Nonprofits: Community Navigator Pilot Program (CNPP)

Vermont Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC) has been chosen as one of 51 grantees nationwide to be part of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Community Navigator Pilot Program (CNPP). Using a “hub and spoke” model, VtSBDC is leveraging partnerships with trusted community-based organizations to reduce barriers that all small businesses —including those owned by disadvantaged groups such as veterans, women, BIPOC business owners and those from rural communities—often face in accessing critical support.

Following the success of the Restart Vermont Technical Assistance Program (ReVTA) in supporting businesses impacted by COVID-19, the Regional Development Corporations (RDCs) of Vermont have been tapped as CNPP spokes. This facet of CNPP will coordinate critically important technical assistance to businesses and organizations impacted by COVID trying to adapt to new practices, retrofit their physical spaces, and access new technology.

Preparing to Submit Your Application

For Vermont businesses and nonprofits with at least $5000 in annual gross revenue, established as of March 15th, 2020 and impacted by COVID-19—This program is first-come, first-served, so you’ll want to reserve your space in line early by being prepared to provide the following information:

  1. Your business’s DUNS Number (Register for a DUNS number for free HERE)
  2. Owner’s household income (More details on calculating that HERE)
  3. Your business’s gross revenue, net income, and the number of full-time employees for 2019 – 2021
  4. A general idea of the kind of technical assistance your business needs – Take a look at the list of registered vendors (coming soon) to get a sense for the kind of services that are being offered.
