Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Association for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery (VAMHAR), in collaboration with Recovery Partners of Vermont (RPV), is pleased to announce Recovery Day 2025, scheduled for February 19th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Governors’ Ballroom at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Montpelier.
Recovery Day is an annual advocacy celebration dedicated to honoring the power of substance use recovery and the diverse pathways individuals undertake on their recovery journeys. This year’s theme, “Recovery Rooted in Community Connection”, emphasizes the vital role that community support and peer connections play in successful recovery outcomes.
“Vermont’s Recovery Day serves as a powerful reminder that substance use disorders, mental health needs, and co-occurring conditions respond well to evidence-based and timely interventions”, said Daniel Franklin, Executive Director of VAMHAR.
“Support from peers who have had their own unique recovery experiences is invaluable, and this event provides an opportunity for us to come together, share our stories, and advocate for continued progress in this field”, said Gary De Carolis, Executive Director of Recovery Partners of Vermont.
The event will feature personal testimonies from individuals in recovery, discussions on the strengths and challenges faced by recovery organizations offering support, and a collective visioning of a Vermont that fully embraces and supports those on their unique recovery journeys. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with community leaders, policymakers, and fellow advocates to further the conversation on prevention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery advocacy in the state.
While registration is not required to attend, VAMHAR and Recovery Partners of Vermont encourage participants to register to ensure adequate seating and refreshments. Everyone is welcome to join in this celebration of recovery and community connection.
