ACC offers high quality early childhood care and education in Shelburne, VT and has been serving the community for over 30 years. Currently we serve 45 families and 60 children ages six weeks to five years old. Since its inception the center has served more than 2,000 children. We are an active community partner in promoting awareness and opportunity for the field of early education. ACC is an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, that operates as a NAEYC accredited and 5 STAR rated early childhood care and education program.

Position Overview
The Ascension Board plays a vital role in guiding and supporting the preschool’s mission, operations, and long-term sustainability. Board members provide expertise, oversight, and hands-on support in key areas to ensure the success of our school and community.
Commitment & Expectations:
- Attend monthly board meetings (one hour per month).
- Contribute to projects and initiatives as needed, based on experience and availability.
- Support the preschool’s growth, financial health, and community engagement.
Current Areas of Need:
We are seeking individuals with expertise in the following areas:
- Finance & Accounting – Budgeting, financial oversight, and tuition planning.
- Educational Landscape – Understanding of early childhood education policies, curriculum trends, and best practices.
- Building & Grounds – Facility maintenance, safety protocols, and space planning.
- Fundraising & Development – Grant writing, donor relations, and fundraising events.
- Legal Expertise – Compliance, contracts, and policy guidance.
- Parent & Community Engagement – Strengthening connections between families, the preschool, and the broader community.
