Slate Valley Cares is a community-driven nonprofit dedicated to fostering food sovereignty, dignity, and justice for all. Through innovative programs and partnerships, we empower individuals, strengthen community connections, and advocate for systemic change to ensure everyone has equitable access to nutritious, culturally appropriate food. Rooted in principles of trust and resilience, we strive to build a future where food is recognized as a fundamental human right.

Position Overview
We are seeking dynamic and committed board members to guide our mission of advancing food sovereignty and justice. Ideal candidates will bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Food Sovereignty and Regenerative Agriculture: Proficiency in sustainable and ecological practices that strengthen local food systems and promote community empowerment.
- Fundraising and Development: Demonstrated success in cultivating donor relationships, securing grants, and driving financial sustainability.
- Legal Compliance and Financial Management: Knowledge of nonprofit governance, accounting, legal oversight, and ethical management of resources.
- Nonprofit Governance: Experience with nonprofit operations, strategic planning, and organizational development.
As a board member, you will play a vital role in shaping our vision, ensuring legal and financial integrity, and driving impactful initiatives to fulfill the fundamental right to food for all.
