Community Outreach & Public Relations Manager

The Community Outreach & Public Relations Manager leads Age Well’s external outreach, public relations, and strategic relationship development to strengthen organizational visibility, expand community engagement, and advance its mission across the communities it serves.

Working closely with the CEO, COO, Chief Advancement Officer, and leadership team, the Manager serves as a key ambassador for Age Well, representing and promoting the full range of programs and services Age Well provides to older adults, caregivers, and the broader community. The Manager builds and maintains relationships with healthcare systems, community organizations, businesses, municipalities, government entities, elected officials, other Area Agencies on Aging, and statewide partners.

The position proactively identifies opportunities to increase awareness of Age Well’s programs and services, strengthen referral networks, expand partnerships, support volunteer recruitment, and advance organizational priorities. The Manager also coordinates public relations, executive communications, and advocacy activities in collaboration with organizational leadership.

This role also works closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager, who leads brand, content, digital communications, campaigns, social media, and marketing operations, and with the Grants & Corporate Partnerships Manager to develop relationships that may lead to funding opportunities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, public administration, nonprofit management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

Demonstrated experience in community outreach, public relations, external affairs, strategic partnerships, or a related field.

Familiarity with media relations, government relations, advocacy, or public policy.

Experience in healthcare, human services, aging services, nonprofit organizations, or Vermont’s community and government sectors preferred.

Ability to travel throughout Age Well’s service area and attend occasional evening or weekend meetings and events.
