River Arts, a vibrant community art center located in the heart of Morrisville, seeks a Programs Manager responsible for the oversight of all adult and youth programs, as well as summer camps, community events, and special programs. The Programs Manager reports to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with leadership, including Board committees, to deliver high quality programs that support our mission of arts for all.
The Programs Manager is responsible for creating class schedules by semester, management of offsite partnership programming, community and social media outreach, as well as hiring of instructors. Position Summary
Oversees and executes the planning and coordination of programs with assistance and support from the Program Committee & Executive Director
Adult Programming
-Fall, Winter & Spring Calendar – Planning a minimum of 2-3 adult programs per month
-Reach out to and hire instructors for adult programming
-Coordinate programming to align with current gallery exhibitions and strategic plan
-Send feedback forms to program participants
-Create and send out employment contracts
-Manage registrations for adult classes
-Send introductory emails to participants for adult classes/events
-Coordinate scholarship awards for adult classes/events
Youth Programming
-Develop an engaging after-school program and summer camp schedule for youth of all ages
-Manage youth after-school and summer camp budgets
-Hire instructors and schedule classes and camps
-Send introductory emails to participants
-Coordinate scholarship awards for students
-Send feedback forms for participants of programs
-Wednesday Night Live–Train and hire teens to be paid to facilitate art projects (summer only)
-Provide training and opportunities for teens to teach youth classes
Kinder Arts Programs, Elder Arts Programs and Partnership Programming
-Coordinate with local pre-kindergarten and child care centers for offsite Kinder Arts programming (Negotiating contracts, hiring Kinder Arts instructors, and managing Kinder Arts budget)
-Create enrichment programs for older community members
-Develop partnerships to create future programming with other entities in our community (Morrisville Library, Peoples Academy, Lamoille Partners …)
Support Clay Studio Tech
-Work directly with Clay Studio Technician and oversee the use of the Clay Studio
-Manage private lessons and classes for Clay Studio
-Communicate with participants including pick-up dates
Send feedback forms for participants of programs
Key Qualifications
-Experience with program and curriculum development
-Demonstrates a passion for the arts and a commitment to the River Arts mission to provide Arts for Everyone in our community.
-Self-starter and problem solver with leadership experience, valuing transparency, high integrity and who enjoys working in collaborative settings
-Solid, hands-on budget management skills, including budget preparation and analysis
-Excellent organizational skills with exacting attention to detail
-High level of motivation, positive attitude, flexible, proactive
-Strong written and oral communication skills
-Proficient in Google Docs, Squarespace, Salesforce, and Adobe Signature preferred
-Able to work in a dynamic environment including computer work, interacting with students of all ages, and managing contracted instructors.
