2022 Nonprofit Wages & Benefits Report of Northern New England: Vermont Edition

Hiring and retaining great workers is one of the biggest challenges we face as nonprofits. That’s why Common Good Vermont has teamed up with NH Center for Nonprofits and Maine Association of Nonprofits to collect the latest data on wages and benefits from our tri-state area. Each state produces a state-specific report on Wages and Benefits this fall based on the data collected in this survey. The Report tells an important and deeply informative story about wage and benefit practices of our sector to help you make decisions in your own organization.

The 2022 Vermont Edition provides Vermont’s nonprofit professionals with salary and benefits benchmarks for 32 full and part-time positions from 141 Vermont nonprofits and 639 Northern New England nonprofits who contributed to the report’s data. This year’s report includes new data on equitable hiring practices, workforce demographics, short-term changes to our workforce, and shifts in remote work that will help organizations plan strategically for the future. While open to any 501(c) organization, the survey’s respondents were predominantly 501(c)3 public charities.
