Vermont nonprofits are facing significant capacity challenges across staffing, operations, fundraising, and long-term sustainability. To better understand these challenges and design more effective support systems, Common Good Vermont, Leaves of Change Vermont, and the Leahy Institute for Rural Development, in partnership with the University of Vermont’s MPA Program, have launched the Vermont Nonprofit Capacity Survey.
The survey will help identify current capacity needs and barriers organizations face when seeking support to help prioritize future services and guide the design of practical, accessible solutions that strengthen the sector as a whole.
We strongly encourage all Vermont nonprofits to participate and to share the survey broadly within their networks. The value of this effort depends on broad participation that reflects the diversity of organizations across the state, including geographic, organizational size, and mission differences.
The survey takes approximately 5–10 minutes to complete. Responses are anonymous unless participants choose to provide contact information or consent to follow-up.
