WATCH: Vermont Nonprofit Summit Welcome Address & Keynote Panel 10/23/2024

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Common Good Vermont convened the first annual Vermont Nonprofit Summit in Montpelier. The Summit brought together over 200 nonprofit leaders from across the state to share innovative ideas and best practices. The event offered valuable insights into topics including fundraising, organizational development, and communication, equipping participants with tools to enhance their impact.

During the Summit welcome address, participants heard remarks from United Way of Northwest Vermont CEO, Jesse Bridges; Vermont Community Foundation Vice President for Grants and Community Impact, Holly Morehouse; and, Common Good Vermont Director, Martin Hahn.

“United is the way we can ensure everyone in Vermont has a chance to thrive,” Jesse Bridges emphasized, “I ask for each of us to unite for the common good to continue to learn, grow and evolve together to meet the needs of Vermonters.”

The keynote panel explored the demographic shift that is occurring in Vermont and in our nonprofit sector. Vermont Public’s Mikaela Lefrak moderated a panel of emerging nonprofit leaders to discuss how our sector can grow, support, and learn from a new generation of leadership. The panelists were Dylan Bell, Operations & Finance Manager at Mary Johnson Children’s Center; Samba Diallo, Executive Director of AIDS Project of Southern Vermont; Sultana Khan, Director of Social Change at Mosaic Vermont; and, Shabnam Nolan, Executive Director of King Street Center.
