The Ben & Jerry’s Foundation is privileged to announce the opening our 2025 Vermont Equity & Justice Grant program with an allocation of $300,000. This year, we have made the decision to appropriate the funds in this program to help support Vermont non-profit organizations experiencing adverse impacts to their work, to their organization’s viability, and to their communities as a result of federal actions and policies.
Applications should address emergent needs that have arisen as a direct result of federal actions and policies. Because our grants are small and our funding so limited, we unfortunately are not in a position to offer grants to backfill any loss of federal funding.
And while we do not have the resources to offer grants that could replace the loss of federal funding, we can offer support to help with organizational responsiveness, preparedness and planning. This could include, but is not limited to, funding to help secure legal or financial accounting services, meeting emergency needs in your community, strategizing a way forward, and organizing activities to generate more public support.
Requests for funding may be submitted at any time throughout the year and will be evaluated at least quarterly. We will consider requests for up to $15,000.
Special priority will be given to organizations that work with targeted groups including, but not limited to:
- Immigrants & Refugees,
- LGBTQ+ people
- People of Color
- Low-wage labor organizers
- Women & Girls
We will consider requests for emergent needs including, but not limited to:
- legal support
- tax reporting and accounting services
- security needs
- deportation defense
- strategizing and planning support
- communication strategies
- community responsiveness and support
Process: Applicants may submit a request for funding at any time throughout the year.
