Participate Now: 2024 Nonprofit Wages & Benefits Survey of Northern New England
Now more than ever, hiring and retaining great workers is one of the biggest challenges we face as nonprofits. That’s why Common Good Vermont has teamed up with the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits and Maine Association of Nonprofits to collect the latest data on wages and benefits from our tri-state area. Each state will produce a state-specific report on Wages and Benefits this fall based on the data collected in this survey.
Your contribution to this data is vital. So many of our Vermont nonprofit colleagues regularly contact us for this information as you set benefits and wages for new and current employees. The more responses we have, the more valuable the results will be.
The report tells an important and deeply informative story about the health and viability of our sector and best practices for you to assess as you make decisions in your own organization.
The 2024 edition of the Survey on Nonprofit Wages & Benefits in Northern New England is open April 3 – May 24, 2024, and participants receive a free copy of the report.

2022 Vermont Nonprofit Wages & Benefits Report
In Vermont, our nonprofit sector employs about 69,000 jobs which translates to 1 in 7 workers (data.commongoodvt.org). We contribute about $5.7 billion per year to the economy through wages paid, retail and wholesale purchases and professional service contracts. Understanding how employment and hiring in our sector is changing is an essential step in planning for what comes next for nonprofits, our people, and our communities.

The cost for the 2022 Digital Report is $125 for non-participants of the survey. The Survey is conducted every two years and participants of the Survey receive the Report for free. The next survey will be conducted in 2024.
