The Friends of Stowe Free Library work to foster close relations between Stowe Library and the Stowe community by developing human and financial resources, sponsoring activities and programs, and promoting knowledge of Library resources.

Position Overview
The Stowe Free Library is experiencing an unprecedented period of growth under the guidance of an incredibly imaginative, dedicated library staff. As the organization, which funds many of the library offerings, it is an exciting time to be a part of the Friends board and enable the expansion of library programs and services. It’s an incredibly fulfilling opportunity, as the impact of the board’s efforts are immediately visible in the community. The reach and results of the work happening in the organization are astounding!
We are currently looking for a treasurer with a pretty minimal time commitment (say, 7-10 hours a month, max). Main responsibilities include:
Attend 1 board meeting a month (typically 1 hour)
Process payables / receivables (current Treasurer uses Quickbooks for tracking)
Conduct monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
Generate reports for Friends meetings
Send figures to accountant for fiscal year-end IRS tax return
Provide info to accountant who completes 1096s and 1099s
File VT Secretary of State form every 2 years
