Overview of Organization

Our mission is to build strong communities by empowering individuals and families through innovative, quality services. By joining our team, you are joining the greater Vermont Parent Child Center Network, and supporting state-wide efforts to ensure families are able to be resilient, connected, and have the necessary knowledge to navigate parenting young children! While we facilitate many programs that grow and evolve regularly, all our work remains focused on the goal of strengthening both youth individually and families, especially those most vulnerable. Any overview of our many programs and services, ranging from a food shelf to an early childcare program to community events, can be found on our website.

Position Overview

The Board of Directors is the legal authority for MFCC. As a member of the Board, a Director acts in a position of trust for the community, and is responsible for the effective governance of the organization.  Board Members must be knowledgeable about and uphold the Center’s by laws and policies regarding client confidentiality and conflict of interest statements (provided on our website).

Our Board Members are active leaders in the Center’s operations, serving through volunteer hours and advisory input. The primary obligation is to attend monthly, 90-minute meetings via Zoom to inform and stay up-to-date on regular governance. Each member also supports the Center in a way that is unique to their skill set, interests and availability. This ranges from joining a standing committee, taking on special projects like improving our playground or updating annual policies, or leading our parent advisory council.
