Part-time: 10-20 hrs/wk

Remote in Vermont: Candidates must reside in Orleans, Caledonia or Lamoille County VT

The BBBS Program Coordinator oversees the facilitation of all site and community-based programs in their assigned geographic area, ensuring program quality and performance. Responsibilities include supporting the relationship between volunteers Bigs and their Littles, and organizing quarterly match and family activities. Program Coordinator reports to the Executive Director.

Primary Duties

  • Work closely with the Executive Director to maximize operational efficiencies and to meet performance goals
  • Oversee community and site-based 1:1 mentoring program
  • Support and supervise caseload of Big/Little matches
  • Complete monthly match contact, quarterly and annual surveys and youth development plans within prescribed timelines.
  • Maintain updated, confidential files on all assigned matches (paper and electronic)
  • Recruit volunteer mentors and youth participants
  • Interview and assess needs of children/youth to determine suitability and fit for the program; Interview and vet potential volunteers
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local partners
  • Attend relevant community meetings as assigned/Promote the mission of the agency at community functions
  • Plan and attend quarterly family and match activities
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Performance Requirements:

  • Match Support Caseload: Maintain a match support caseload of 10-20 mentor/mentee pairs.
  • Match Support Contact: Maintain a minimum of 85% match support completion within the month that it is due and recorded in MatchForce as prescribed by BBBSA best practices.
  • Surveys: 60% of surveys (required by BBBS, MentorVT, various grantors, etc.) must be completed and returned within allotted timeframes.
  • Communication: Weekly communication with Executive Director and program staff; quarterly quality assurance reviews.

Other requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor Degree required.
  • Valid driver’s license, registration/insurance.
  • Must be vaccinated against Covid-19
  • 2-3 years experience in marketing/sales or working with youth and families preferred.
  • High level of proficiency with computers and cloud-based applications (Google Drive, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Trainings: Complete all required Big Brothers Big Sisters online and in person trainings and other relevant trainings as assigned.

Schedule: Work hours are flexible. Some evening and weekend work is necessary to meet the goals of the agency.

Work environment: Remote – must reside within Orleans, Caledonia or Lamoille County VT.

Travel: Local travel is required.

Pay: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour
