The Organization
Champlain Islander’s Developing Essential Resources (C.I.D.E.R.) is a non-profit organization based in South Hero, VT. C.I.D.E.R. has been serving the people of Grand Isle County since 1993, with a focus on transportation, meals on wheels and congregate meals, accessibility programing and senior advocacy.

The Program
Since 2018, C.I.D.E.R. has run an independent Meals on Wheel’s program, “The Neighbors”, serving seniors in Grand Isle County. The program serves:
•Roughly 650 meals a month in Meals on Wheels, on Monday’s and Thursday’s
•Congregate Meals twice a month, on every other Wednesday, serving roughly 70 meals each month

The program is run by the Meal Site Director, a paid meal site aide, and around a dozen volunteers that help with prep and delivery of meals. The Neighbors is based at the Congregational Church of South Hero, with a full commercial kitchen.

The Position
The Meal Site Director will oversee everything to do with The Neighbors, from menu planning, to shopping, cooking and volunteer coordination, the director has control over how the job is done. The requirements:
•The meal site director will cook meals on Monday’s and Thursday’s and have them ready for delivery by 11AM
•The meal site director will cook meals for congregate lunches, twice a month, with meals starting at noon.
•The meal site director will menu plan, shop, and coordinate volunteers, in conjunction with other C.I.D.E.R. staff.

The facts:
•The proposed starting pay for this position is $22/hour
•C.I.D.E.R. is flexible on hours and would be interested in exploring the possibility of full-time work for the right candidate. Currently, the job averages around 20 hours per week.

You
The preferred candidate will have commercial kitchen experience with ties to the community. The program is integral to the health and wellbeing of Grand Isle County residents and respect, consideration, and a sense of empathy is a must.
