Math Teacher – Jean Garvin School:

Develop and apply Flexible Pathways to teach adolescents with learning challenges, ASD, Complex Trauma and other mental health challenges. Support classrooms with differentiated instruction. Capable of being compassionately assertive, utilizing Relational and Trauma Informed instructional strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Design/implement academic programming that addresses each student’s academic level
  • Design/implement social and behavioral programming
    Foster a safe learning environment
  • Collaborate with Specialists, families, public school personnel and other treatment providers
  • Regularly assess/report on students’ functioning (academic, social, behavioral)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A VT Teaching License, grades 7 – 12
  • Certification in content area
  • Ability to implement effective behavioral and therapeutic interventions.
  • Experience working with youth who exhibit significant social, emotional & behavioral challenges
  • Comfortable with and capable of being compassionately assertive and thriving within a dynamic environment that utilizes Relational and Trauma Informed instructional strategies.

Structure:

  • Full time (37.5 hours)
  • We offer a competitive salary commensurate to experience
