The Turning Point Center of Rutland is a non-profit recovery center that provides a safe, friendly, fun, and substance free environment. All people in recovery, and their family and friends, can meet here for recovery support, meetings, social activities, recovery coaching, education, and advocacy. The Turning Point Center respects all paths to recovery. We understand that all areas of life need to be addressed. All our services are free of charge.

Position Overview

The Turning Point Center of Rutland is excited to announce an opportunity for individuals to contribute to our mission by volunteering as a board member.  We are specifically seeking candidates who possess expertise in financial management, human resources, and/or legal affairs to join our dedicated team.

The Turning Point Center plays a crucial role in supporting individuals and families in their journey towards recovery from substance use disorders.  As we continue to grow and expand our impact, we recognize the importance of diverse perspectives and specialized skills at the board level.

We are seeking individuals with a strong background in one or more of the following areas:

  • Financial Expertise: Experience in financial management, accounting, budgeting, and financial planning.
  • Human Resources: Knowledge in HR policies, employee relations, and organizational development.
  • Law: Legal expertise in relevant areas as nonprofit law, employment law, and compliance.

Board members play a pivotal role in guiding the organization’s strategic direction, ensuring financial stability, and overseeing programs.  We are looking for you to:

  • Provide expertise and guidance in your respective areas.
  • Attend regular board meetings and actively participate in discussions. We meet every other month on the second Monday at 5:30 PM.
  • Support fundraising efforts and contribute to financial planning.
  • Advocate for the Turning Point Center in the community.
